The Howard County Historical Society...

...is a diverse group of people - of all ages - who share an interest in history and care about preserving our heritage.
 
We are the custodians of Howard County history and are responsible for maintaining the historic Seiberling Mansion. the adjacent Elliott House, and a collection of over 60,000 artifacts representing the county's rich history.
 
Recognizing and preserving our cultural heritage through the activities of the Howard County Historical Society is an enjoyable way to maintain contact with tradition. You can help us preserve our past for the future by becoming a member of this growing organization. Membership benefits vary by level, but include:

Named for the Seiberling Mansion, built in 1889 in a unique Neo-Jacobean (Queen Anne) Romanesque Revival style and home of the historical society. Kingston Founders Circle

Named for Inventor and entrepreneur George Kingston, who developed the Kingston carburetor, a key component of the Ford Model T. He purchased the Seiberling Mansion in 1914 and lived there until 1931. Founders’ Circle members make a unique and significant contribution to the HCHS goal of preserving and sharing Howard County’s heritage. In addition to the quarterly publication, Footprints, members receive free admission for their household, eight complimentary single-visit guest passes, a VIP behind the scenes tour, one hour free historic research with our curatorial staff, 50% off a facility rental and discounted special events.
